Kīlauea Point NWR Project Update
Heather Tonneson, Refuge Manager for the Kauaʻi National Wildlife Refuge Complex, made a presentation at the December KNA Meeting regarding the predator-resistant fence project at Kīlauea Point NWR.
Heather and her colleagues have scheduled two opportunities for community members to meet on Nihokū to discuss the project further and learn more: on Monday, December 20th at 4:00pm and Wednesday, December 29th at 10:30am. If you are interested in participating, please email Thomas Daubert at [email protected].

Dispensary Park Holiday Lights – Mahalo!
Mahalo nui loa to the volunteers who installed the underground electric cord and decorated the three Norfolk pines at Dispensary Park: Matt Del Rosario, Jonathan Schwartz, Shay Conant, Gary Pacheco, Kellen, Lihau and Jemma Paik, Lee Gushiken and Mo Nakahara. Kīlauea is looking festive!

Climate Adaptation Plan
The County of Kaua’i is starting an island-wide Climate Adaptation Plan (CAP). The goal of the plan is to determine strategies and priorities to reduce our vulnerability to climate change, while also considering emissions reduction strategies.
