Some suggestions for affordable Kauai housing.

(Sorry, Attachments won’t upload, contact Jim Edmonds)

Aloha Nui Loa, Members of the General Plan Update Committee:

Thank you for your hard work and dedication.

A well-informed group of concerned citizens have worked very hard to prepare the attached suggestions – so that we can share them with you – and also continue to work to ensure that our local population will be able to live on their home Island.  We all know that land and homes are becoming unreachable for many – even to rent.  The next “Affordable Homes” will be sold in Hanamaulu in 2018 for the “HIGH  $ 400,000’s” !   Say what ?  L

So we have compiled sensible and achievable, comprehensive suggestions, which include urgent solutions, based on state-of-the-art techniques in development to actually build very affordable housing (drawn from research and real-world experiences, around the world).

We hope that you will objectively analyze these suggestions – and carefully reflect on our extreme need – and make your best efforts to insure that, moving forward, the County of Kaua’i completely changes the conversation and re-evaluates all current standards and regulations, in order to insure Kaua’i’s local population with truly affordable housing.

We would be honored if you will meet with us for a brain-storming session and would love to hear from you if you have suggestions to improve our work.

We are attaching a Word file and a PDF to make sure everyone can read it.  The PDF’s work better on cell phones.

Also please note the attached letters of support from businesses that will be deeply involved in affordable housing in the future.

Take good care.  And, again, thank you !

Reward offered. Catch these criminals. New leads.

Citizens Against Theives C.A.T. shares these new leads and more. To join this active Kilauea Neighborhood watch group go to; www.citizensagainstthieves.com…

All CAT members, get these pictures out to everyone.  Someone knows these thieves.  There is still a $1,000 reward for arrest and conviction.  Let’s stop these thieves. Kahili Makai needs to get a better neighborhood watch and set up a camera to record who comes down their street.

Just wanted to bring you attention to another break in we had this morning. Fortunately I had installed new cameras and was able to scare them off before they could take anything. The whole video shows how they trick the garage door to open and I am currently researching how to fix this. I think this could happen to anyone. This is best I can do. “Call of duty  black ops” t shirt is good one to look out for.

Do you recognize these numbskulls?

toydrive link.

Anaina Hou is excited to present our First Annual Anaina Hou Holiday Toy Drive.  Donations will be given to local children in need within our community from Haena to Anahola. As an added bonus, guests will enjoy free admission to Kauai Mini Golf and Botanical Gardens with their toy donation.

The Anaina Hou `ohana enjoys finding ways to give back to our community. This year, we are pleased to host our First Annual Anaina Hou Holiday Toy Drive.  Our intention is to honor the spirit of the holidays and help channel the love of our community into the joy and smiles of our keiki.

Unwrapped toys can be dropped off in the Gift Shop at Kauai Mini Golf, on the Anaina Hou campus, until December 22, 2016.
I’ve attached a flyer promoting our Toy Drive. I kindly ask that you please share this with your community group.
