Līhu‘e Airport Master Plan

Update 8/18:
Based on various meetings with the Kauai Delegation, Technical Advisory Committee, and the Kauai community, the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation, Airports Division (HDOT-A) is canceling the Lihue Airport Master Plan Update. The HDOT-A will conduct an Optimization Plan for improvements at the Lihue Airport. We ask for your patience while we update the lihmasterplan.com into the Lihue Airport Optimization Plan website. Please note that the HDOT-A continues to work closely with the Kauai Delegation, Technical Advisory Committee, the Kauai County Destination Management Plan and the community.

The State of Hawaii Department of Transportation – Airports Division (HDOT-A) is updating the 1989 Lihue Airport Master Plan and 1991 Part 150 Noise Exposure Map and Noise Compatibility Study.

The Master Plan Update will reflect new facilities, current forecasts of aviation activity and new environmental and other regulatory constraints, and plan for the appropriate mix of land uses to support projected aviation and non-aviation needs.

The Part 150 Noise Exposure Map Update will also reflect current and forecast operations at LIH.

The HDOT-A welcomes your participation and feedback. Click HERE for more information.

A petition has been formed to gather names against the growth and expansion of the airport. Click HERE.
